EVP is a fascinating area of Paranormal research, and probably the phenomena that causes the most debate from sceptics. This is because legends, and reported sightings are one thing, but the thought of Ghosts actually talking and having a voice does not sit comfortably with some people.

EVP, can be captured as a response or randomly during an Investigation by a number of means.

• Using a tape recorder, Dictaphone, or voice activated IC recorder, EVP can be recorded. An ambient background noise like electric fan or running water can enhance the possibility of auditory phenomena.
• White Noise, is another common example of how to capture EVP on tape. It is believed that by tuning a radio to 1475khz (medium wave) and recording from this frequency, audio from the world of spirit can be captured.
• Simply recording from a stereo player with un - tuned radio static (White Noise) in the background, is also believed to encourage phenomena.

EVP will best be captured after the first 30 seconds of recording, and within the first 2, minutes as this is when the energy will be at it’s peak.
